Dunwoody GA parade July 2016
Family-friendly Dunwoody is in the northern part of DeKalb County and shares borders with Sandy Springs, Norcross, Doraville and Chamblee. The population is nearly 50,000. Median home listing price is $470,000 and the median closing price is $320,000.

When locals refer to the "Perimeter Area," they're talking about the Dunwoody-Sandy Springs area on the north side of I-285, roughly between Ashford-Dunwoody and Chamblee-Dunwoody Roads. A longstanding area landmark is busy Perimeter Mall. New landmarks are popping up quickly such as the distinctive State Farm corporate office across the street from the mall.

Dunwoody's appreciation of its long and storied history shows in the several historic sites that have been preserved while the city grew up around them. The Dunwoody Preservation Trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the city's history.

Each July 4th, Dunwoody residents and their neighbors gather for a festive parade featuring 2,500 participants and over 32,000 spectators. Other annual events include Lemonade Days, the Dunwoody Nature Center's Butterfly Festival, the Dunwoody Arts Festival and several more.
